|Cabannes is a village near Avignon and the Alpilles Park. The chapel St Michel is the oldest building of the town dating from the 12th century with an extension of the 17th. By participating in this project, you will contribute to the restoration of the Provencal heritage, you will discover both artisanal restoration techniques and regional specialties.
The work : You will pursue the restoration of the facade walls of the chapel St Michel.
1 Cleaning and purging walls of any exogenous elements (vegetation, concrete, etc.)
2 Re-grouting mortar joints
3 Replacement of missing parts
Accomodation : You will be housed in the socio-cultural home, in the center of the village, where you will have access to the kitchen, showers and toilets. Bring mattresses or mats. You will prepare meals in common evenings and weekends. On weekdays, you will have meals prepared by the canteen.
Leasures : Cabannes is a small Provencal village of 4500 inhabitants, very dynamic, in the heart of Provence, offering a wide choice of cultural, patrimonial, and environmental discoveries. You will participate in the festivities of the village, including the “fête de la Madeleine” and July 14th (French national day), and see the Avignon festival nearby.
